Southern Sierra Council CampsCamp KernCamp Kern is the "Crown Jewel" of our Council. Located on Huntington Lake, one of California's premiere sailing lakes, this is one summer camp your Scouts will never forget! For more information about Camp Mirimichi, please call the Scout Office at 661-325-9036. Mil Potrero Mil Potrero is located just an hour away from Bakersfield next door to Pine Mountain Club. Clean up and renovation of our newly acquired camp began just a few months ago with Scouts and Scouters alike pitching in. Official opening of Mil Potrero is scheduled for late Spring 2008. Adventure into the world of investigating and learn techniques that the police use to solve crimes. Agent 007 - James Bond is on assignment in Europe, we need YOU - Agent 008 to become a detective and master your spy skills, learn to dust for fingerprints, build your own spy tools, crack the secret codes, learn observation techniques, experience how dogs help in the search and uncover the location of the donuts stolen just days before! Reservation forms are available at the Scout Office and also look for them at Roundtable. We are also looking for volunteer support to help with Day Camp at all locations.
