Cub Scout Rangemaster Training - Friday, Jan. 19 - 6:00 to 9:00 pm - Scout Office Recently Added Content

Cost $10 - Pre-registration required by Jan. 12. Email Jeremy Brown to register ( (661-912-1261). All participants must be at least 18 years old. Pizza and beverages will be provided. Training card provided upon class completion. Sign up now - maximum class size is 24 participants.

Trainer's EDGE - Saturday, January 20 - LDS Church A St. Bldg - 8:00 am

Preregistration required to insure participants have an opportunity to prepare their "pre-class assignments". This course is for all Council and District Trainers, Commissioners, Roundtable Staff, and mandatory for Wood Badge Staff & NYLT Staff. Trainer’s EDGE helps develop the skills of a trainer... Scouts completing the course will earn the Public Speaking Merit Badge.


This event has been cancelled for 2018. In its place - units are encouraged to take their Cub Scouts outside for a fun adventure.

Volunteer Recognition Dinner - Saturday, January 27 - Kern Ag Pavilion - 5:45 pm to 9:00 pm

This annual event recognizes Scouts, Scouters, and Community Leaders who give outstanding service to the Scouting movement. These include the 2018 Board of Directors and District Leadership, the 2017 Council Level awards, and the highlight of the evening, the Silver Beaver Awards. 2017 Silver Beaver Recipients - Vince Burns, Steve Illingworth and Richard Schoolcraft.

Please drop by to wish Jean a happy retirement!! Jean has served the council since 2009 as the Trading Post Manager and is the first face you see as the door opens. Many uniforms, handbooks and awards have passed from Jean's hands to the leaders and scouts of the Southern Sierra Council. Stop by to have some snacks and wish her well.
