The Southern Sierra Council Executive Board is proud to announce the arrival of the council's new Scout Executive/CEO, Jesse Lopez.  

Jesse began his BSA career in 1991 as a District Executive in the Monterey Area Council.  There he implemented a Gang Intervention program, coordinated a council level-family FOS campaign and assisted with District Day Camps.

In 1995, he moved to the Pacific Skyline Council serving both San Mateo and Santa Clara counties as a Senior Exploring Director/District Director.  He re-energized Safe Rides Program for 10 high school campuses.  He led the council Scout-O-Rama, coordinated Quarterly Explorer Advisors' Summit and increased revenue through Council Distinguished Citizens' Dinners.

In June 2000, Jesse promoted to District Director/Field Director for the Golden Empire Council in Sacramento.  There he served 16,000 youth, 8,000 adults, 990 units in 16 counties in Northern California.  Jesse instituted a Hispanic Outreach program, increased product sales, developed a successful Family FOS campaign and balanced membership growth in multiple districts.

In 2010, he accepted the position of Director of Field Services for the California Inland Empire Council in Redlands, CA.  CIEC serves Riverside & San Bernardino counties with 18,000 youth, 10,000 adults and 1,000 units.  There he increased growth in Membership and in Retention.  He developed council FOS campaigns for Board, LDS, Family, Community and Project Sales.

Jesse's first day in the office is Tuesday, February 17.  Please welcome Jesse to his new position along with his wife, Tracy, and their two children ages 16 and 11.<<<
