That’s why Camp Kern offers a well rounded program with opportunities for adventure! Take a hike with your Troop, go fishing at the waterfront or make reservations for a Troop shoot at the rifle range. You can even set out on a trek on horseback!

Reservation Form

To reserve your spot, you can do any of the following things:

- Print the reservation form and mail it in with a check or money order deposit

- Call the council office (661-325-9036) to pay the deposit over the phone by credit card and reserve your spot, then print the  reservation form and mail it in 

- Fill out the reservation form and email it to christy.schleibaum@scouting.org with credit card or Paypal information for the deposit

Camp Youth Protection and Registration Requirement

Southern Sierra Council - Camp Kern Requirements:

  • All individuals over the age of 18 staying overnight at resident camp must be a registered adult with the Boy Scouts of America by June 1st 2018 and have a Youth Protection Training certificate within two years of the end date of the program.(This includes parents attending camp as leaders or visitors staying overnight).
  • All individuals under the age of 18 must be registered as a youth member with the Boy Scouts of America or Learning for Life.

If an individual is not currently registered, all registrations must be processed by June 1 of the participating year to ensure that individuals are registered and background checks have been completed prior to arrival.

Out of Council Unit Requirements:  Individuals attending an applicable Southern Sierra Council summer program should bring to camp a printout of the unit's roster. The roster can be printed from my.scouting.org or obtained from your Scout Service Center. All adults attending camp should be on the roster and be marked as Youth Protection trained. Adults not on the roster will not be able to remain on property.

THE ROAD TO CAMP KERN IS OPEN!!!

Do not follow the detour signage for Lakeshore.

The segment of road that is closed is after Camp Kern's Scout Dock and Parking Lot!

Current Status Report

 

There is water in Huntington Lake!!

The latest report is that the Lakeshore docks and Camp Kern barges are all afloat in the lake. We will definitely have a fun summer!
